Spotlight Series: Get to Know a Senior Intake Coordinator

What Does an Intake Coordinator Do?

United Drug Rehab Group is excited to have had the chance to work with Matt H. for the past year and a half. As a Senior Intake Coordinator, his job is to oversee a team of Intake Coordinators and ensure that all of our clients are placed into the correct addiction recovery program for their specific needs. When you call in, compassionate intake coordinators like Matt will take the time to get to know you and your situation, before recommending the appropriate addiction treatment program for your severity of addiction and history of substance abuse. Every drug rehab center within our network of providers offers each client a customized treatment plan.

What is Matt’s Background?

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Matt moved to California in in 1998 to attend the University of California Los Angeles. Graduating in the class of 2002 with a BS in Sociology and a Minor in Business, Matt remained in California to take his first position as a support staff member within a recovery community. Matt says this recovery community is what inspired him to pursue a career in addiction treatment services, due to the internship he took with them during his senior year of college.

Matt has held two other positions in the field of addiction and recovery. Before joining our team at United Drug Rehab Group, he was a case manager and a social worker. Three years ago, he married his wife, Susan. Just last year, they welcomed a son, Nathaniel. Some of Matt’s favorite hobbies are camping, weightlifting, and kite surfing. Matt is passionate about finding the right treatment programs for our clients. He and our network of providers believe in the effectiveness of dual diagnosis programs for those who are struggling with addiction.

What Does Dual Diagnosis Mean?

Dual diagnosis programs treat both the mental and physical aspects of addiction. By identifying and treating both the psychological and corporeal effects of substance abuse, our network of providers are able to create a solid foundation for your recovery. Within a dual diagnosis program, there are two main aspects: clinically managed detox and intensive therapy. The first step of treatment is to go through the clinically managed detox, where case managers will lead you through evaluations to determine your required level of support, which will ensure a peaceful detoxification process. Following a successful detox, we will place you into one of United Drug Rehab Center’s luxury housing facilities where you will learn positive coping techniques and relapse prevention mechanisms while living among others in recovery.

What Sets United Drug Rehab Group Apart?
Our highly qualified and trained staff members like Matt make United Drug Rehab Group a truly unique place to recover. The staff to client ratio is almost at 1:1. This statistic is very hard to come by in most drug rehabs. Our network of providers teach relapse prevention techniques and positive coping practices that are designed to be used in place of alcohol or drugs during of emotional distress and temptation. Some of the positive practices we offer include kayaking, horseback riding, meditation, group therapy, exercise, individual counseling, and yoga. Call one of our experienced and compassionate intake coordinators like Matt, today. He and others are ready to help facilitate your complete and total recovery.
