Family Services in Addiction Treatment and Recovery

One Person’s Addiction Affects the Whole Family

The disease of addiction is categorized as a “family disease” due to the way that it affects every single member of the family. When one person is addicted to alcohol or illicit drugs, other family members are affected by the potential lying, stealing, manipulation, and secrecy that comes with acquiring and using these substances. While your loved one is enrolled in a customized addiction recovery program at our drug rehab center, we encourage you and your other family members to attend Al-Anon or Nar-Anon. These valuable resources are support groups for everyone who has a loved one who struggles with addiction of any kind. There is even youth programming for children. These family support programs are ideal for introducing family members to addiction and recovery. In addition, United Drug Rehab Group incorporates family services into all of our program.

What Are Family Services?

Depending on each patient’s personalized treatment program, family involvement will vary; however, we encourage family involvement, as it is a very important aspect of successful treatment. Throughout the program, families can receive weekly updates via the client’s case manager. If families live too far for in person meetings, phone sessions can also be arranged. Our network of providers strongly encourages families to participate in family therapy sessions with your loved one. Under the mediation of a licensed counselor, you will be able to communicate with each other about how addiction has affected your life. You will also receive guidance on how to create a support system for the client after their treatment program comes to an end. There are also some written exercises to get the communication flowing.

What Else Does United Drug Rehab Group Offer?

We want to help your loved one break the cycle of substance abuse in her or his life. Our innovative dual diagnosis programs treat both the body and the mind. This treatment is highly effective and produces greater results than simply applying detox alone. We find it imperative to treat both the physical and psychological side effects of your loved one’s extended substance abuse.

Treatment starts with a clinically managed detox that is designed to put the client at ease and eliminate any worries about withdrawal symptoms. Detox a detailed support assessment that will ease your loved one through the process without any stress or withdrawals. Next, he or she will take up residence in our luxurious housing facilities with others in recovery. The opulent setting is sure to provide your loved one with the best possible location to focus on her or his sobriety. We teach positive coping mechanisms like exercise, art, yoga, meditation, and 12 step programs. Our network of providers knows that different practices work for different people, and will encourage the client to discover what is right for her or him. Call one of our experienced intake coordinators today with any questions you may have about enrolling your loved one with United Drug Rehab Group.
